Parent Support Group

Lollipop Kids understands the need for parent-to-parent communication. When raising a child with a disability, support groups can be a lifeline. Sometimes the best resource for parents of children with disabilities are other parents facing similar struggles. Attending them and interacting with others can offset the feeling that you are the only one in your situation.

This group is designed to bring families raising children with disabilities together who are facing similar challenges. The group emphasizes emotional support, understanding and shared experiences. The goal of this group is to offer a safe, non-judgmental platform for its members to talk openly and honestly about their feelings they may otherwise keep to themselves.

Group meets Saturday mornings at 10am. Childcare provided. Siblings included.

Sibling Support Group

Children who have brothers and sisters with disabilities have needs that are often overlooked. Siblings can be faced with emotional challenges and need some help in understanding their feelings and dealing with the stress placed on their parents. Our sibling support program’s goals are to have fun, share feelings, build friendships and foster understanding. We offer a comfortable platform where siblings are able to discuss their feelings and ask questions.

Lollipop Links

Lollipop Links is a playgroup for infants and toddlers ages 0 through 4 and their parents and/or caregivers. The goal of this program is not only to initiate therapeutic play among participants but also to develop sharing of experiences and bonding among the parents of newly diagnosed children. This prevents isolation and provides opportunities for mentoring and learning about resources and developing coping skills.

Dates coming soon.
