Group Community Outings
One of the greatest challenges for many families raising children with disabilities is taking their child to public places. It often takes a lot of time and practice for these children to get acclimated to new places. Sometimes this causes these children to make a big fuss and sometimes people make insensitive comments and make the parents feel bad about their heroic attempt at normalcy. With this in mind, LKF offers organized group community outings that allow children with disabilities and their families to feel “part of the scene”.
LKF believes that people are healthiest when they feel supported and connected to others in their families, neighborhoods, workplaces and communities.
